Myiesha (Mya) Cato
In 2014, Mya found herself in a yoga class as an avenue to stretch achy muscles and ease the mental stress of Corporate America. The physical benefits were obvious but the beginning of her yoga journey was ignited after receiving a sense of balance between the mind, body and spirit. She adopted yoga as a lifestyle by self-teaching through Youtube University and various books.
Born in Arkansas, this first generation Caribbean-American yogi grew up in a military home. She chose to become an instructor because she felt there was a lack of representation from people of color in yoga spaces. She is passionate about translating the teachings of yoga within her communities.
After receiving her 200-hour Hatha Vinyasa Yoga certification in 2016 through Yoga Loft Tampa, Mya began her teaching journey and founded Meeyogi, LLC. With a degree in Business Management, she wears multiple hats to ensure the growth of the company. As an Integrative Enrichment Specialist with Urban Yoga Foundation, she teaches mindfulness practices to children to help create an environment of social emotional change.
Having wrote her first book in 2019, The Beginner’s Guide to Yoga, Mya’s goal is to share the art of yoga with as many people as possible. She has worked with various organizations and schools such as University of South Florida, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Brandon High Basketball and Centre 4 Girls. She has led multiple wellness sessions geared towards women empowerment, yoga for athletes, and self-care for young ladies.
Marco’s (Mooyoung’s) love for yoga began in 2017 when he was going through a hardship in life. After divorcing his wife, he was having trouble finding answers to life’s questions and started to look inward. He began collecting tons of books to study the art and science of yoga.
With over 15 years in the medical field, Marco has always had a love for helping people to heal. He received his certification in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Restorative Yoga from Koko’s World of Yoga School in 2018. Other styles that he’s adopted include Tantra and Quantum Yoga.
He is a travel junkie with a love for sky gazing and chasing waterfalls.
